Chrysler Joins Paris Motor Show With new Wrangler And Avenge

The Paris Motor Show is soon going to open and all people interested in meeting the best of the best vehicles there is would sure be running towards that mentioned grand event. And the manufacturer of superb Chrysler parts has announced its own share of vehicles that would be gracing the mentioned auto show.

According to the Chrysler Group, they would be sending out two new vehicles for the Paris Motor Show. One would be the all new Jeep Wrangler while the other one would be the Dodge Avenger. And as per the latter, Chrysler even further says that this new vehicle actually is soon going to be marketed as a brand new saloon vehicle and it would be coming to the United Kingdom's market come the middle of 2007.

During the mentioned auto show that will be held in the European region, it would also be the very first time that the newly revamped and upgraded Jeep Wrangler would be shown in the continent. According to Chrysler, they would be showing off the Jeep Wrangler in two versions. One would be the one that holds two doors while the other one would be the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Edition and this would be holding four doors. Come the month of April next year, the United Kingdom auto maker would be able to purchase the vehicle. And as per the kind of power this vehicle has? Well, let us simply say that the new Jeep Wrangler would be sold mounted with the new 2.8 liter engine that runs on diesel fuel. But Chrysler further informs that there would be a couple of units that would be coming in with a 3.8 liter engine that would be running on petrol fuel.

The Dodge Avenger, on the other hand, is a vehicle that sure would be holding the interest of many of the auto show's goers. It sure does look like a muscle car and with that you would also know that it would be holding a really good amount of power. Chrysler also informed the public that this vehicle would be really friendly to the family and it also has got a good fuel economy and would be a very efficient vehicle at that.

Ferrari Hype builds up with 599 GTB Fiorano

Ferrari has recently adopted the latest technology using the tested all-aluminum construction for the body and chassis. This was incorporated in the 599 GTB Fiorano Ferrari, which was officially presented to the public last February 28 at the Geneva Motor Show. Said construction gave the latest model of Ferrari the elegant yet aggressive façade.

Aside from the appearance, 599 GTB Fiorano Ferrari has also adopted advanced aerodynamic solutions to attain high performance of the car. The latest from Ferrari is a symbol of its advanced production as well as its classics. It replaces the line of berlinettas which was introduced a decade ago.

Amedeo Felisa, Ferrari's Vice General Manager described the birth of the latest model which was developed in Maranello. "The new car is a concentration of Ferrari's most innovative and technologically advanced engineering solutions applied to a mid-front engined two-seater coupé. The result is a new benchmark for performance, driver involvement and design. The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano boasts class-leading power thanks to its 5,999cc V12 - derived directly from the Enzo Ferrari supercar - which produces no less than 620hp at 7,600 rpm for a weight/power ratio of just 2.6 kg per horsepower," Felisa said.

Fiorano has the most powerful V12-engine from Ferrari. It also has a magnetorheological suspension system. By applying an electronically controlled magnetic field, the latter can adjust the dampers. The interior seat features of 599 GTB Fiorano are composed of the traditional horizontal perforated pleats with bespoke built-in luggage on the back shelf. It also has vertical headlamps for a stronger appeal and expression. Moreover, the most interesting area is the separate composite rear buttress. The latter is designed to allow the cabin glass to flow in a droplet shape.

In a nutshell, 599 GTB Fiorano has a classic look of Ferrari auto parts with its innovative aerodynamic elements, gorgeous curves and significant shutlines. These are the reasons why Ferrari lingers with power.

Ford Escape Hybrid Given To Chicago

Going back to the Chicago Auto Show last February, the Ford Motor Company has announced that it will be presenting a Ford Escape Hybrid taxi cab to Chicago. This would be used as part of a study and test for a year of evaluation.

At present, the presentation of such a hybrid vehicle is in the works. In fact, all the preparation is still being ironed out for any kind of flaws. Part of the whole program is scheduled interview made especially for media people. Those who will be part of this segment in the program would include Norma Reyes, the Department of Consumer Services Commissioner; Nancy Gioia, the director of Ford's Sustainable Mobility and Hybrid programs department; Mark Kaufman, the Group SUV marketing manager of the company; as well as Kermit the Frog, the speaker of the company for the Ford Escape Hybrid.

On Thursday, June 8th, this presentation would be taking place. It will be held at the Museum of Science and Industry which can be found on 57 St. and Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. It will be done in the evening and Kermit the Frog would be the main host of the said affair. There will also be a reception made especially for Ford Escape Hybrid owners. This would actually give them a chance to rub elbows with Ford engineers.

Another part of the event would be a preview of "Frogs: A Chorus of Colors" exhibit. This exhibit is mainly focusing on how amphibians are one of the first species in this planet that is affected by changes in the environment. Of course, this would show just how much hybrids like the Ford Escape Hybrid would be able to help out and address such an issue.

The Hyundai Motor America has just most recently announced that it is launching a new program and campaign that is set on supporting those people who own vehicles yet cannot drive because of some special physical needs or physical disabilities. The company is calling this whole campaign the 'Mobility Program'. As part of this program customers will be actually reimbursed with amounts that could reach up to $1000. This, they can use for new adaptive equipment that can be installed in any new vehicle from Hyundai. They can avail of this as long as the vehicle is leased or purchased through a dealership that has been authorized by the company.

According to John Krafcik, the vice president of product development and strategic planning of Hyundai Motor America, "Hyundai is committed to offering all consumers access to the most sophisticated vehicle safety technologies. For example, we package Electronic Stability Control on more than 70 per cent of the vehicles we sell, and Hyundai models consistently receive high marks for crashworthiness." Krafcik even adds that with the Mobility Program, drivers who have special physical needs will find things much easier when they purchase vehicles. In line with this, the Louisiana Tech University has conducted their own research. Their study had results that implied that minivans and sedans are the mostly used vehicles for modifications for the disabled. They make up the majority which is a whopping 55.4 per cent. Also according to the said study, the most common things modified on these vehicles for those drivers with special physical needs are the use of lifts and lowered floors. Other modifications also include special steering systems as well as special braking controls.

Is Your Automatic Transmission Working Okay?

The automatic transmission system is simply one kind of transmission system for a car or vehicle. The other type is the manual transmission system. Now, the main difference between the two is that with the automatic transmission system, you would not have to change your gear ratios for the system would do the thing for you as your go about driving your car. In fact, it simply means that the gear ratios would be done by the system itself as unlike the manual transmission system, you would be doing this task yourself manually.

Part of your car's automatic transmission system is the automatic transmission fluid and this is also known as the ATF. According to automobile experts, it is important that you do check this regularly, at most every month. However, if you do feel that your automatic transmission system is not shifting gears as smoothly as before, then it is recommended that you do check your car's ATF.

To check your car's ATF, you should first park your car on level ground. Then start up your engine. You should also leave the gear in neutral or in park. Have a little patience while your engine warms up.

When you have achieved so, try to locate the ATF dipstick. This is usually located at the back of your car's engine. You would know it is the ATF dipstick because it is much shorter compared to the engine oil dipstick. Pull the dipstick out and remove it. Then, wipe it off clean using a rag. After that, put it back in the engine and push it all the way. Then remove it again.

It is now time to scrutinize the dipstick tip. You would see that there are actually two marks there - one is for cold readings while the other is for warm readings. You should set your sight on the one marked 'warm'. You should see that the ATF should come up until the line that has been marked 'Full'. If not, then it is time to add your ATF for your car.

A Small Overview of the Automotive Transmission

The transmission is an automotive part where the power is transferred from the engine to a driving axle making the car move. Sometimes it is also known as the gear box because set of gears are found inside the transmission.

The manual transmission is commonly used by car manufacturers and it has various numbers of forward gears and one reverse gear, it is usually comes in "H" pattern. The driver can select any gear depending on the speed of the car. In order to select a gear the driver must step on the clutch pedal to disengage the clutch disk from the engine and release the pedal after selecting the desired gear.

Unlike the manual transmission, the automatic transmission doesn't need and doesn't have a clutch pedal to disengage the clutch disk when shifting gear. The automatic transmission shifts gear automatically and makes the car much easier to drive. Usually automatic transmissions have several selections such as the "P" for Park, "N" for Neutral, "D" for Drive, "R" for Reverse and "L" for Low. The overdrive button at the automatic transmission lever is used to maximize the output when driving at high speed. Most of the modern automatic transmission has the CVT (continuously variable transmission); it is different from the traditional automatic transmission because CVT uses pulley and belt instead of the gears.

The sequential transmission or semi automatic transmission doesn't have any "H" pattern like the manual transmission because the movement of the lever is in two directions only. Through the help of CPU and electronic sensors installed in the car the clutch itself is controlled which synchronizes the timing and torque needed to make gear shifts fast and smooth. .

Some transmission have a so called dual clutch, it uses two clutches but has no clutch pedal. The advanced electronics and hydraulics control the clutches just like the standard automatic transmission. The two clutches work independent, the first clutch controls the odd gears (first, third, fifth and reverse), while the second controls the even gears (second, fourth and sixth).
